Traffic Management OPERATIVE

About the role

As a leading provider of temporary traffic management operating throughout the UK from our base in Studley, Warwickshire, we have a long standing reputation of delivering a high quality service to our customers. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic person to join our team.

The successful applicant will be able to take responsibility out on site, liaising with our customers effectively and meeting their expectations. You will be able to keep calm and work well under pressure, you will also be motivated and be able to work under your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will ensure that you represent our Company in a positive manner.

The role involves:-

  • Maintaining high levels of safety expected by the company, their customers and fellow colleagues throughout your daily activities.

  • Selecting the correct and appropriate equipment (cones, signs etc) for use out on site.

  • Loading all equipment required for a contract on to the appropriate vehicle and ensuring it is correctly secured.

  • Drivers Only- Drive loaded company vehicles to site and back again safely.

  • Install contract temporary traffic management in accordance with instructions from the Site Foreman or Lead Traffic Management Operative.

  • Manage and maintain installed temporary traffic management in accordance with contract and legislative requirements.

  • On completion of the works, ensure that all equipment used on site is removed, including sand bags.

  • On return to the depot, unload the vehicle and place the unloaded equipment at the appropriate locations in the depot.

  • Working unsociable hours, including nights, working away from home, weekends and Bank Holidays (if required) in various weather conditions and at various locations throughout the UK.

  • Interacting with members of the public and our customers in a polite and courteous manner.

  • Completing all required paperwork on a daily basis to assist management with meeting customer expectations.

  • Driving company vehicles in a safe manner.

  • Utilising company technology on a daily basis.

  • Having the ability to be dynamic and flexible being able to meet the needs of the company at, sometimes, short notice.

  • Upholding the mission, vision and values of the company.

  • Ensuring you represent the company to a high standard.

  • Wearing correct PPE at all times and ensuring that it is in good order and fit for use.

Qualifications and Training

Essential Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Qualifications

  • Conflict Resolution

  • NHSS 12D Registered Lead Traffic Management Operative, covering M1 through to M5

  • First Aid qualification
